'...RECORDING is not permited...'
What makes this whole scenario so interesting is that anyone can view, download, review again, AND as many times as they want. MS's, publishers [is that term still used?] brothers, sisters, children, your next door neighbor, Aunt Tillie, Uncle Bernie, the clerk at 7-11, every long haul trucker from here to El Salvador, every fisherman from Newfoundland to Alaska, every lumberjack from California to Brazil, every coal miner from Kentucky to China, etc. etc. etc.The amazing thing is that the only people that cannot download are elders, CO's, DO's, included. So the whole world can review this video and get every word straight EXCEPT the elders. At least they can never admit to it.
Amazing, absolutely amazing. -

O Witness Cart
O Witness cart, O Witness cart!
How thy racks are so shiny!
O Witness cart, O Witness cart!
How thy racks are so shiny!
Not only in the summertime,
But even in winter is thy prime.
O Witness cart, O Witness cart! How thy racks are so shiny!
O Witness cart, O Witness cart!
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!
O Witness cart, O Witness cart!
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!
For every day the Witness cart,
Brings to us all both joy and glee.
O Witness cart, O Witness cart!
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!
O Witness cart, O Witness cart!
How thy racks are so shiny!
O Witness cart, O Witness cart!
How thy racks are so shiny!
Each rack doth hold its tiny mag,
That makes each wheel to sparkle bright.
O Witness cart, O Witness cart!
Thy racks shine out brightly! -

Question re: TerryWalstrom post on Reza Aslan
by Esse quam videri inas i understand reza alsan's explanation of our view of history vs the ancients, the ancients were not so committed to recording accurate facts as recording ideas which, reza aslan stated , would be their understanding of truth.
it appears many have been quick to accept reza aslan's comments as having great weight.
he is a convincing speaker, i think mainly, because he believes what he says.

As I understand Reza Alsan's explanation of our view of history vs the ancients, the ancients were not so committed to recording accurate facts as recording ideas which, Reza Aslan stated , would be their understanding of truth. It appears many have been quick to accept Reza Aslan's comments as having great weight. He is a convincing speaker, I think mainly, because he believes what he says. Many here have, in the past, given convincing arguments to support subjects they now reject.
My questions are the following:
Why has accepted evidence shown that the ancients were so fastidious in making accurate records if the idea was the important thing? Why meticulous recording of events as they were handed down generation after generation?
I direct attention to comments regarding the Dead Sea Scrolls as a contribution to this topic.
After years of careful study, it has been concluded that the Dead Sea Scrolls give substantial confirmation that our Old Testament has been accurately preserved. The scrolls were found to be almost identical with the Masoretic text. Hebrew Scholar Millar Burrows writes, “It is a matter of wonder that through something like one thousand years the text underwent so little alteration. As I said in my first article on the scroll, ‘Herein lies its chief importance, supporting the fidelity of the Masoretic tradition.'”{6}
A significant comparison study was conducted with the Isaiah Scroll written around 100 B.C. that was found among the Dead Sea documents and the book of Isaiah found in the Masoretic text. After much research, scholars found that the two texts were practically identical. Most variants were minor spelling differences, and none affected the meaning of the text.
One of the most respected Old Testament scholars, the late Gleason Archer, examined the two Isaiah scrolls found in Cave 1 and wrote, “Even though the two copies of Isaiah discovered in Qumran Cave 1 near the Dead Sea in 1947 were a thousand years earlier than the oldest dated manuscript previously known (A.D. 980), they proved to be word for word identical with our standard Hebrew Bible in more than 95 percent of the text. The five percent of variation consisted chiefly of obvious slips of the pen and variations in spelling.”{7}
Despite the thousand year gap, scholars found the Masoretic Text and Dead Sea Scrolls to be nearly identical. The Dead Sea Scrolls provide valuable evidence that the Old Testament had been accurately and carefully preserved.

JW Cart - Historical Photo - 1
by Esse quam videri inwith all the buzz about the jw public witnessing cart it has escaped the notice of all but the most studious researchers that the wt carts were actually started by pastor charles taze russell.
a careful examination of one of the most famous photographs of the 1906 san fransisco fire, caused by the preceding earthquake, reveals a wt cart.
further investigation brought the researchers attention to bible student sister myrtle jenson, shown on the left of the photograph, and facing away from the camera, looking down sacramento street.

'In what publication is this sister's experience related? How many years later did she recount it? From what source did you acquire a copy of the photograph? The cart looks very modern and could pass for a current cart raising a question about photo-shopping.
Really? In keeping with the Watchtower Society's tendency toward 'historical adjustments' I see nothing strange or unusual about this photograph. As for Sister Jenson's recounting of events, it evidently would appear that she did make such a statement.

With all the buzz about the JW Public Witnessing Cart it has escaped the notice of all but the most studious researchers that the WT Carts were actually started by Pastor Charles Taze Russell. Miss Jenson is the woman in the light coat at the center of the group of ladies on the left of the photograph. Miss Jenson only left her cart unattended for a short time, to view the fire. She immediately returned to her cart duties, but not before inviting all the fellow onlookers to come back and 'take life's waters free', namely brochures explaining the Studies in the Scriptures written by Pastor Russell.
Years later, when questioned about her experience that day she recounted, ' ...oh my, what a day that was. I think I placed hundreds of brochures. Of course I could never have done it without the earthquake. I guess I was just lucky that day. I was hoping Armageddon had come but it was not to be. Too bad, too bad...'

JWFT definitely puts their 'feet to the fire' and keeps them answering and excusing and justifying over and over again. Though his presentation may not suit everyone, who on this forum has even contacted Bethel headquarters and asked anything, anytime? My guess is that if you have it has been with timidity and hesitation. JWFT shows 'righteous indignation' and with that weapon few can stand.
This is a valuable recorded conversation. Download it and keep it as a reference. Use what you can and ignore what you cannot. If you fault it, come up with your own. Let everyone else see what YOU can offer.

All this new JW.org stuff is hurting my brain
by Nosferatu inso i just watched the singing cart video.
i literally cannot describe how i felt watching that.. growing up as a jw was serious business.
we had to take the preaching work seriously, watch our conduct, give a good witness by our actions, and be on our best behaviour to ensure we made it through the great tribulation.. when i was a child, i had dreams of being a cartoonist.
